Registrations for International Conference of Interpretation open until May 5

Environmental interpretation is a powerful tool to provoke connections between people and their environmental, historical and cultural heritages. Through interpretation, we preserve and share our stories, protect our resources, enrich our lives, and connect with each other.  This year’s International Conference on Interpretation (NAI 2019) will take place from May 20 to 24 in Rio de Janeiro, RJ. This will be the first time that the conference organizer, the National Association for Interpretation (NAI), with support from the Chico Mendes Institute for Biodiversity Conservation, the U.S. Forest Service and the U.S. Agency for International Development USAID, will host its annual international conference in South America. The event will bring together organizations working with protected areas, zoos, botanical gardens, museums, travel agencies, hotels and individuals (local community members, guides, volunteers, teachers, managers of protected areas).

The five-day event will provide participants with a unique opportunity to share, learn together and build a collective vision of the development of interpretation in Brazil. Come to Rio de Janeiro to share your success stories and experiences with colleagues from all over the world.

The Conference is being held for a maximum of 120 participants! Take advantage of special rates until May 5th, 2019.
