Registrations are Open for the PPA 2019 Call for Business Proposals

From now until 21 July, applications for the PPA 2019 Call for Business Proposals are open. Eligible participants include entrepreneurs, start-ups, social organizations, community-based businesses, people networks/collectives, institutions and companies in the early stages of their impact activities focused on protecting the Amazon Forest, valuing biodiversity and securing socio-environmental development.

Promoted by the Partnership Platform for the Amazon (PPA) under the coordination of IDESAM, the Call will select projects to participate in a business round with investors. Successful applicants will receive financial contributions of up to R$ 800,000, and will be invited to join the PPA Acceleration Program, which includes face-to-face training on select topics; customized mentoring; co-working; legal, accounting, marketing and branding support; as well as grants towards the cost of attending training programs and events.

All initiatives located in the Brazilian Amazon or with value-chains related to the region are invited to join, providing that they fit into one of the following areas: sustainable agriculture and livestock farming; sustainable forestry and socio-biodiversity products; education and social welfare combined with environmental conservation; climate change mitigation and adaptation; socio-environmental products and services; combating wildlife trafficking, illegal logging and environmental crimes; and reducing impacts on rivers and forests through waste management.
